Privacy policy
This page describes what happens to the email address you leave anywhere on Grind Coast, how visits to the site are counted, and what the cookie banner asks. It is short, because not much happens.
Who collects it
Grind Coast, an independent project, not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. Grind Coast is the data controller.
What is collected
Your email address, where the form was submitted from, and the signup date. Nothing else: no name, no handle, no gaming platform.
The form itself sets no cookie. Your IP address is kept in memory for a few minutes to throttle automated submissions; it is not stored with your address.
How visits are counted
The site uses Vercel Web Analytics, the audience-measurement service of Vercel, which hosts the site. For each page view it records the page address, the referring site, the browser, the operating system, the device type and an approximate location derived from the connection.
It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device. A visitor is recognized only by a hash computed from the request, valid for one day and discarded after 24 hours, so a visit cannot be linked to another day or another website. Grind Coast sees aggregated counts only, never an individual visitor, and none of this is linked to your email address.
The purpose is to know which pages are read and where visitors come from, so the site can be improved. The legal basis is Grind Coast’s legitimate interest in that measurement. None of this measurement is used for advertising.
Cookies and advertising pixels
To show the free beta again to people who have visited the site, Grind Coast may use the advertising pixels of Meta (Facebook, Instagram), TikTok and X. A pixel is a small script from the network that sets cookies on your device and tells the network that you visited the site and, if you did, that you signed up for the beta. Nothing is loaded until you accept it in the banner shown on your first visit: refuse, or make no choice, and no pixel, no cookie and no request to those networks exists. The site works the same either way.
The legal basis is your consent. It is kept for six months in your browser’s storage, as a refusal is, then the banner asks again; you can change your choice at any time from the Cookies link in the footer. Withdrawing it stops the pixels from the next page on and removes the cookies they set on grindcoast.com. Each network processes what its pixel collects under its own privacy policy, as the controller of that processing. Your email address is never passed to a pixel.
Why
To send you your access to the free beta of the Grind Coast app when GTA 6 releases, on November 19, 2026, and after that only what matters around the launch: a value observed in the game that changes a decision, a new answer in the app, a change to the free beta. A few messages around the release, never a daily feed. The legal basis is your consent, given by leaving your address. Every message carries an unsubscribe link.
For how long
Until you unsubscribe, and at most twelve months after the GTA 6 release. An unsubscribed address is deleted, not archived.
Who it is shared with
Nobody. The address is stored in a database operated by Grind Coast at a cloud hosting provider, reachable from the server only. It is never sold, rented, or shared.
Your rights
You can access, correct, delete your address or withdraw your consent at any time: every Grind Coast email carries an unsubscribe link and a contact address you can reply to. Deletion takes effect within thirty days.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL at cnil.fr).
