Is GTA 6 a PS5 Exclusive? Confirmed Xbox Platforms

No. Rockstar lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for November 19, 2026. We checked the official GTA VI website on October 23, 2026.

ComicBook’s October 22 report describes confusion about a commercial without an Xbox logo. That is reporting about the advertising, not a new platform announcement. A PlayStation-focused advert does not override Rockstar’s platform list.

Availability is not a performance comparison. Neither a console logo nor a marketing slogan establishes frame rate, resolution or equal performance between machines. Do not choose hardware from an advert alone.

GTA 6 Launch Trailer: Has the Release Date Changed?

No earlier release is announced in Rockstar’s October 15 launch-trailer post. It still lists November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Read the official announcement and watch the trailer.

The trailer is a video, not access to the game. Digital preload prepares your download; it does not bring the release forward. The calendar below separates these milestones.

Why publish a launch trailer this early? Rockstar’s post does not explain its timing. It does not establish a new release date or a schedule for further trailers. Checked October 17, 2026.

Has the GTA 6 release date changed? Every announced date

Yes, twice. November 19, 2026 is the third announced date, and it is still the current one. The table lists each date Rockstar announced, when it was announced and where. Checked October 17, 2026.

In its November 2025 post, Rockstar apologized for “adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait” and said the extra months would let the team finish the game “with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve”. Quotes as reproduced by Gematsu on November 6, 2025.

Is GTA 6 delayed again?

No new delay is announced as of October 17, 2026. Rockstar’s October 15 launch-trailer post still lists November 19, 2026. Treat any other date as unconfirmed until it appears on Rockstar’s Newswire or the official GTA VI website.

Which consoles get GTA 6 on November 19?

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. No PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC version is listed on the official site reviewed on October 17, 2026. For PC, read the PC section below.

When was GTA 6 announced?

Rockstar confirmed development of the next Grand Theft Auto on February 4, 2022; the Grand Theft Auto VI title reveal followed on December 4, 2023. These are two different milestones.

• February 4, 2022: Rockstar’s community update confirmed that development of the next entry was underway, without revealing the GTA VI title or a release date.
• December 4, 2023: the official GTA VI announcement (PDF), dated December 4 in US Eastern time, named the game and linked to Trailer 1. Its original 2025 release window is historical, not the current schedule.

GTA 6 Reviews: Reported Embargo Date and What Buyers Should Check

November 18, 2026 is the reported review date, not a public Rockstar announcement. Insider Gaming’s October 26 report says it independently verified that date after NateTheHate’s claim. We reviewed the article on October 27, 2026; we could not read the original X post directly.

Before buying on the strength of a review

• Choose a spoiler-free verdict if you want to preserve story discoveries.
• Check the exact console, build and performance mode tested; do not assume results apply to another console.
• Look for measured performance and stated limitations, not just a score.
• If reviews matter to your purchase, wait until they are readable. Use the launch checklist for the separate preload and installation checks.

Press access does not grant buyers early access, establish a new release date or confirm when GTA VI Online launches. We have not tested the release build.

GTA 6 pre-orders and editions: what has Rockstar announced?

Rockstar’s press release of June 24, 2026, reproduced by Game Developer, opened pre-orders on June 25, 2026 and lists two editions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The prices are the US list prices stated in that release; check your own store and currency.

What GTA 6 release times do the PlayStation stores list?

The PS5 Ultimate Edition listings checked on October 12, 2026 display the times below. Local times are our conversions of the stores’ UTC timestamps using November time-zone offsets.

Check your account region and purchased edition. These listings do not establish Xbox times, other regions or another edition’s schedule. Box pickup and preload are separate milestones. Recheck your own order before launch.

Grind Coast’s countdown remains a local-midnight reference, separate from this table. In Los Angeles, that reference falls three hours after the checked US listing’s time.

Why does the countdown change by region?

The counter uses midnight on November 19 in the selected region as a reference. Switching regions changes that reference instant; it does not prove the game will unlock at midnight there.

The local clock uses the selected region’s time zone. Seasonal time changes are applied to the release date as well as to the current clock. If the reference instant has passed, the counter stops at zero.

How do I check the actual unlock time?

Start with the dated PlayStation observations above, then check the store listing for your own platform, account region and edition. A date, a preload time and an unlock time are different things. Do not plan around this reference counter alone.

Is there a GTA 6 PC release date?

No PC release date is listed on the official GTA VI website reviewed on October 14, 2026. Its November 19 console date is not a PC announcement.

GTA 6 on PC: What the Q1 2027 Report Actually Says

Alexander Lee’s October 13 GamesBeat report describes a planned PC launch in January–March 2027, citing four unnamed industry sources. Rockstar had not responded before publication. This is attributed reporting, not an official release announcement.

The report supplies no exact date. A native PC edition, cloud access and GTA VI Online are separate questions; one does not confirm the others. PC requirements, supported stores, price and performance targets remain unannounced in the official listing checked here.

Can you play GTA 6 on PC through Xbox Cloud Gaming at launch?

The October streaming reports do not establish PC access. PC Gamer’s October 7, 2026 report relays Xbox strategy chief Matthew Ball’s clarification that the reported streaming arrangement does not include PC and is not exclusive. This is attributed reporting of his statement, not a Rockstar PC launch announcement or a complete supported-device list.

We could not directly read the original X statement during this review. Do not buy a cloud subscription on the assumption that it grants GTA VI access on PC; check the current game, device and purchase conditions with the platform.

What do Take-Two’s latest comments actually confirm?

PC Gamer’s September 18 report attributes comments about PC’s growing importance to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick. It reports no GTA VI PC release date. Those remarks are not a platform launch announcement.

Take-Two’s October 13 announcement schedules its next results for November 9, 2026. That is an investor event, not a promised GTA VI reveal.

Should you buy a console or wait for GTA 6 on PC?

Our preparation advice: if playing at the announced console launch matters most, compare the full console cost with your budget. If you prefer PC, waiting means accepting that its release date remains unconfirmed. Do not buy twice or choose hardware solely on the assumption that a reported window will hold.
