What did the Twitch CEO say?
PC Gamer reports that Clancy discussed Twitch’s conversations with Rockstar and anticipated a larger audience surge when multiplayer arrives the following year. The outlet said it had requested comment from Rockstar and Twitch.
How we traced this claim
The original Bloomberg interview, dated September 17, was not accessible for our review. Our attribution relies on PC Gamer’s published account. Multiple outlets repeating one interview do not turn it into several independent confirmations.
A reported year leaves substantial questions open: the day, available platforms, purchase terms and progression rules. An exact countdown would imply more certainty than this evidence supports.

Will GTA Online Shut Down When GTA 6 Releases?
The sources reviewed here do not establish a shutdown date. PC Gamer reported on September 18 that Zelnick said Take-Two would continue supporting the existing GTA Online. The account provides no support end date or progression-transfer policy.

Our advice: play and buy for what you enjoy in the current game. Do not treat existing cash, vehicles or characters as a confirmed head start in future multiplayer. Wait for an explicit transfer policy before planning around one.

GTA 6 Mods and Roleplay: What Is Actually Confirmed?
The sources reviewed here do not establish GTA VI mod support or a roleplay launch date. FiveM’s official website describes frameworks for GTA V, including GTA V Enhanced. Its availability is not confirmation of a GTA VI version.

Roleplay is one use of custom servers. FiveM also supports other game modes; “FiveM” and “roleplay” are not interchangeable names.

FiveM’s FAQ distinguishes its servers from GTA Online. Do not assume a server’s currency, purchases or characters carry into another experience.
Can you play GTA 6 FiveM on PS5 or Xbox?
We have not verified a GTA VI FiveM release for either console. FiveM’s current FAQ says its framework requires the PC platform. That describes today’s FiveM; it is not a permanent ruling on what Rockstar might announce for GTA VI.

What about the Rockstar modding-rules headlines?
GamesRadar+ reported on September 21, 2026 on Rockstar’s modding guidelines. This is reporting about rules, not evidence that a GTA VI roleplay service has launched.
We located Rockstar’s original Mod Guidelines, but could not read their full text during this review. We have not verified their revision date or exact scope, so we do not reproduce a permissions or prohibitions checklist here. Check the original rules before creating or monetizing a mod.
